About the work
AKUMADIJU’s GAZE came from one of my earliest experiments the characters outside of the white void they had previously existed within.
At the time i made this piece, Akumadiju was the character i felt the most connected to. For a brief moment i felt less like i was creating him and more like i was seeing myself through him.
The split in the image and the eye within it came intuitively during that process. I didn’t have a fixed explanation for what it meant, it simply felt right for the piece.
Once the edition is sold, this version of the work will not be reproduced in this format.
